The 4all Autumn Fair is an annual fixture in the Thurlow Park diary – a great afternoon of activities, community groups, craft stalls, music, games for children and a BBQ, tea and cake. It takes place at All Saints Church on Lovelace Road from 2-5pm on Saturday 23rd September.
Your local councillors will be at the Fair to listen to your ideas and concerns for the local area, and to provide any support or advice you may need.
Join us this Friday at All Saints Church 7.30-late for an evening of stand up comedy and good food to raise funds for Safe Passage UK.
The recent rise in refugees coming to Europe has left many children alone and searching for asylum. Through a combination of operational delivery, litigation, and political advocacy, Safe Passage UK is helping these unaccompanied children, as well as vulnerable adults, access safe legal routes to the UK. We believe that no one who has a legitimate claim to asylum in the UK should risk their lives trying to get here.
Anna, one of your Thurlow Park councillors, and local residents made a couple of trips earlier this Autumn to take your donations to the refugee camp in Calais and volunteer at the warehouse. Now the French Government have demolished the camp, we are looking to continue helping refugees – we hope you can join us on Friday.
Lambeth have been very proactive in pushing Government to support unaccompanied children refugees and has so far welcomed four of the 20 families that the council has agreed to accommodate – making it the borough that has agreed to do most to help Syrian refugees.
During his December surgery at All Saints Church Max was able to listen to this fantastic orchestra as he spoke to residents about their concerns. The sound was beautiful.
4ALL’s Carols 4ALL will take place between 11:00 and 13:00.
This is a drop-in carol-singing event at which people can come and sing traditional carols and enjoy mince pies, mulled wine, coffee and tea etc; there are a few stalls selling Christmassy things as well!
In past years the informality and non-churchiness of the event has meant that we have succeeded in attracting isolated people whom Christmas might otherwise pass by and we hope to see many more this year!
Max, Anna & Fred were joined by former Thurlow Park Cllr Ann Kingsbury, and Dulwich & West Norwood parliamentary candidate Helen Hayes as we all enjoyed the All Saints Church autumn fair. It was lovely to see all the various stalls and talk with local residents about what was happening in their area.
A great community event with a friendly atmosphere. Meet local groups and charities, buy the work of local craftspeople and enjoy music performed by local schools. Plus: fun for children – fire engine – bike repairs – clown workshop – jazz band – tea + cakes – BBQ – raffle.
Saturday 20 September, 2 – 5 pm, at All Saints Church in Lovelace Road, West Dulwich, SE21 8JY.
